This army of slip cast ceramic characters was created by the Mingarro Brothers in collaboration with Studio Apparatu (a very experimental ceramics studio based in Spain). It is interesting to notice how each component of the character's body is cast separately to be later united as a whole.
I love this. How did they effectively attach the different parts? I wonder if they had to make all the parts at the same time to make sure shrinking and parts being at different dryness wasn't an issue.
ReplyDeleteI wonder that too. I imagine that they calculate so that they have all the parts coming out at more or less the same time so that they are still workable
